Memorial Day passed.

I did observe Memorial Day in my own way, as did many Americans. First I observed it by not writing about it. Then I remembered my two grand fathers and fathers and uncles that served in WWI and WWII respectively. But mostly my grandfathers as they have both passed on. It is a day that has apparently evolved and in my mind been diluted. Originally it was Decoration Day, observed May 30th, and now it is a three day weekend marked by the Indy 500. But more important, Armed Service Day and Veterans Day observe those that serve or have served and Memorial Day should not be a day when politics hides behind those that serve now or co-mingle the troops with the media.
